Why choose web-based services?
Web-based services offer a variety of benefits over traditional office-based services. For one, web-based services allow clients to receive services in the comfort and privacy of their own home. This also eliminates the cost and time associated with travel to and from the appointment and is frequently more convenient for clients with children. Web-based services also remove geographic restrictions and allows me to offer more flexibility in scheduling. Additionally, for clients seeking Premarital Counseling or Marriage Enrichment, web-based services can be indispensable as an increasing number of couples today spend a large portion of their time in different geographic locations due to their careers. In these situations, web-based services allow couples to attend sessions together.
How are online meetings conducted?
I currently utilize video conferencing services through Cisco WebEx. Clients do not need to download any type of software or sign up for any type of an account to participate in meetings through WebEx. The client will receive an e-mail prior to our scheduled meeting time that will contain instructions and a link to the meeting. When the link is clicked, the meeting will open in the client's internet browser.
Is my information secure?
While there is no such thing as 100% secure internet communications, I take many security measures to help ensure your information remains private. First, any information you submit through my secure forms is strongly encrypted and delivered to my Hushmail account. Second, any information I retain for my business records (i.e. your personal file) is stored within an encrypted "vault" called a Cryptainer. For more information on the security of the Cryptainer, please click here. Third, all payments are processed through PayPal, which offers the highest level of SSL encryption commercially available. In addition to those noted above, there are several measures I take to further enhance security and I strongly recommend clients take them as well. First, make sure you have current anti-virus software running at all times and run a full computer scan on a regular basis (or have it set to auto-scan at least once per week). Second, ensure you have your firewall enabled. Third, make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of your internet browser as the updates typically include new security features and fixes.
